Zyflow docs

Setup guides, reference pages and fixes for common problems.

Last updated Oct 3, 2026

The Zyflow docs show you how to connect your AI app, import or export your data, check limits, and look up the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and REST API. Zyflow is a lightweight small-business CRM your AI app keeps up to date (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT Business, any MCP app). Every AI change is labeled.

Get started

Create your workspace, connect your AI app, then tell it about a client. Your workspace’s country sets its currency, date order and time zone.

Try this:

  • Add Maya Chen at Northwind as a client

How do I connect my AI app to Zyflow?

Add your Zyflow link to your AI app, then sign in and approve one workspace.

App settings

  • Claude: a custom connector, on any plan. Claude Free allows one.
  • ChatGPT: developer mode on Business, Enterprise or Edu.1

Terminal or editor

Anything else

Connecting Claude takes about two minutes, and you never paste a password into your AI app.

MCP reference

Zyflow’s MCP server has 32 tools (13 read, 19 write), 5 prompts and 3 resources. It uses Streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The reference lists each tool’s parameters, annotations, results and errors.

Does Zyflow have an API?

Yes. Scripts and forms can use the REST API at https://app.zyflowcrm.com/api/v1. It has the same operations as the MCP server, an OpenAPI reference and named API keys, read-write or read-only. Keep keys on a server: any key can export the workspace. There are no webhooks or SDKs.

Limits

The limits page lists people, records, storage and history by plan, plus the limits on files, imports, bulk changes and documents.

Can I import and export my data?

Yes. Import contacts and companies as a CSV from any spreadsheet or CRM export, up to 50,000 rows and 10 MB. Rows that match a record you already have update it, and rows that match more than one are skipped and listed.

Export any time, on every plan, as six CSV files or one JSON file.3

Common questions

Why does it say “This connection request has expired”?

You have 10 minutes to sign in and approve before the request expires. Go back to your AI app and connect again.

My AI app shows “Welcome back”, but I’m new

That’s the log-in screen. Choose “Create a free account” under the form, name your workspace, then approve.

Can I use ChatGPT?

Yes, on some plans. Writing to Zyflow needs developer mode on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu.1 On ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Go or Free, writing isn’t supported today. Claude works on every plan, including Claude Free.

Claude won’t let me add another custom connector

Claude Free allows one custom connector. Remove the one you have, or upgrade to a paid Claude plan.

I connected the wrong workspace

Disconnect the app on the Connect page, then reconnect from your AI app and pick the right workspace. Your records stay as they are.

My AI can read but can’t save

On ChatGPT, writing needs developer mode on Business, Enterprise or Edu.1 With an API key, check that it’s “Read and write”: a read-only key’s writes fail with insufficient_scope. The Connect page marks read-only connections and keys.

  1. 1 Writing to Zyflow from ChatGPT needs developer mode on a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu plan. It’s in beta, on the web, and an admin switches it on. Claude works on every plan. Checked October 2026. ↩
  2. 2 Gemini support means Gemini CLI. Since June 18, 2026, Google serves Gemini CLI only to people with a paid Gemini API key or a Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise license. The Gemini app isn’t supported. ↩
  3. 3 Export gives you six CSV files, or one JSON file with your records, documents, change history (up to 100,000 changes) and links to every file. File contents download separately from Files. ↩
